I’m Jeroen van der Maat, the owner of Northfield Tech. I currently serve as Director of Technical Services at Hampshire College, where I lead infrastructure and operations supporting approximately 1,000 users across a multi-building campus environment.
Over the past 20+ years, I’ve worked across enterprise, managed services, and institutional IT environments—including roles at Amgen, Dell EMC, and managed service providers—building and supporting systems at scale, improving security, and modernizing legacy environments.
I started Northfield Tech Solutions to bring that level of structured, reliable IT support to small businesses—without the complexity or overhead of larger IT organizations.
My focus is on keeping systems simple, secure, and predictable. That means making sure your computers work, your data is properly backed up, and your business is protected from common risks like ransomware—without constant disruptions or recurring issues.
I primarily work with small businesses (3–15 employees) that rely on their computers and email every day but don’t have in-house IT staff.
Because I work with a limited number of clients, I’m able to provide responsive, consistent support and build long-term relationships based on trust and reliability.
